Hello Sunshine

It rained the whole week... so nice to have sunshine for an exchange.

I saw an accident the other day. It's a rainy morning. A golf cart "flipped" over when it was coming down from a steppy road. The driver was miraculously not injured. He looked so lost and shocked.

What a chance! What a life! Thank God.

Take Your Time

The story W told me the other day is in my head the whole week. When I put hand cream on this morning, I thought about it again. This girl was diagnosed with breast cancer. It's fortunate that the doctor managed to remove it. But she still needs to go through chemo and everything. After that, she realizes how important it is to take good care of herself. Now she takes her time, slows down and puts hand cream on every single finger.

I think I wrinkle my eyebrows too much this week. Sometimes people do hurtful things without realizing it. Maybe they are just thinking too much about themselves. I am thinking what Milton Glaser said about "Some People are Toxic Avoid Them". That makes me smile and stop wrinkling my eyebrows.

My new Jack Johnson CD is sooooooo good. Now I was sitting waiting wishing...

Almost Perfect Apple Cake

This weekend was lovely. My dearest friends N and W came over. We made an apple cake together. Even though there's a tiny accident, nothing can stop the cake from tasting SUPERB.

What a sunny morning! I grabbed my camera and took a few pictures before getting dressed to work. But by the time I was on the boat, my shoes were soaked. It rained so heavy. It's summer time, definitely.

I am thinking of writing something about managosteen. I just found that TSOGB has a wonderful post on this way-too-good fruit. It's fun to learn that the number of "pedals" on the flowery star at the bottom of a mangosteen can tell the exact number of segments inside.

Kosmo

Lunch with V at Kosmo. I had a spinach quiche and a soy-based coffee. The shop manager can speak perfect cantonese. I bought my stove coffee pot from him when he worked at Pacific Place. It seems he knows everything about coffee. Someone once said to me he should get a better job. I think he reeeeally enjoys what he is doing. After all, who can define a "better" job?

One Fine Day

Tea with my dad+mom+sister+bb+brother at Dan Ryan's. hin hin smiles like a little rabbit. Even though it seems we spoil him a lot, who cares. If it is not him, we may never get the chance to have tea or go to the park together.
